I wear Carolina Logger boots every day to work and have worn nothing but for the past 20 years. I have never been disappointed with the fit or quality of these boots and plan to keep them as my daily work boot.

I first ordered this boot for my 21 year old grandson at his request. It fit perfectly and was exactly what he wanted. His size was a 12D. I decided to order my son a pair because he does a lot of work in his yard and with wood for his wood burning stove. He is a larger man, and I guessed at the width, 12EE, and later he told me that was the width of his last work boot. It fit a little snug, but he walked around the house for about an hour and said it was going to be work. He did say that he did not think he could wear thick socks inside of them. I had noticed that some earlier comments were based on comparing a tennis shoe size for boot fitting. A person cannot do that because tennis shoes give and leather boots are for support and are not flexible. My son that wears a 12D in a tennis shoe wears a 12EE in a leather work boot.

After 6 months of wear this boot still has not stretched out to fir my foot as other Carolina shoes do. The leather is very stiff and does not flex much on the upper part around your ankle. Sole seems comfortable however with the stiff leather, they are not good to wear all day at work if you're on your feet most of the day. The boot fits very narrow across the bridge of the foot and pinches the toes together. I normally wear a normal D width so I ordered the same in this bot, will never get them again. Too much money for a Walmart quality and comfort boot.

For purpose of comparison, in normal shoes I wear a size 12 regular in Nike, and Sketcher, and an 11.5 regular in Reebok. I ordered this boot in a 12EE so that I could wear it with thick socks while cutting firewood in the winter. The boot arrived and was really tight (narrow). Length was ok, but they don't offer anything wider than EE, so I sent them back for 13EE's. The 13EE's arrived today and even they are pretty tight, with very little room in the toe area for much movement due to the steel toe. As I sit here, I'm wondering if sending them back for a 14EE will be worth my time and trouble, or if I should just try wearing them with thinner socks and trying to get them broken in and seeing how they pan out. If you're going to order them, order a full size larger than you normally wear. If you already have wide feet, these probably aren't the boot for you since the EE width is very narrow to begin with and you can't get them any wider.

Overall seems to be a quality boot. The sole is very stiff and takes a while to break in, I ordered a size bigger than i wear and they were still a little small , so go 1 1/2 to 2 sizes larger if you order these. Mine arrived a little more scuffed up then they should have with a 1 inch long scratch in the leather , it wasnt too deep but im hoping it doesnt affect the life of the boot, I needed replacement boots immediately or i would have sent them back. Otherwise they seem to be pretty solid.
